Can I have permanent makeup if I have grey hair or grey brow hair?

Absolutely.  Permanent makeup can be a great option for you whether you are embracing your natural grey like grey haired beauties Helen Mirren and Jamie Lee Curtis or whether you are choosing to dye it.

Our brows are such a key feature in our faces.  They frame our eyes, they add balance and structure and importantly they let us express ourselves.  We all deserve to have the best brows possible.

As we age, our brows can start to droop a little.  Our brow hairs can become sparse, this can be particularly apparent at the front and tail of the brow.  Brow hairs can also become coarser and challenging to tame.

It can be difficult to address these concerns yourself.  To start with, you may be unsure where to pluck and how to shape your brows.  Secondly, there are so many brow product to choose from…  There are pomades, pencils, powders, stencil kits, at home brow tints and what on earth is brow lamination?!  There are also so many colour options, but what colour is the most flattering for you?  If you have embraced your grey hair, should your brows be grey to match?  Lastly, what effect would best suit you?  Are you looking for a defined brow, something more subtle and soft or do you just want back what you had before?

Even with the perfect choice of product, colour and effect, you have to know how to apply them in the best way possible.  Where should they start and end?  Should there be an arch?  Should they be curved or more angled?  Are they thick enough or too thin?  If we are older, we can be hampered by it being difficult to clearly see what we are doing.

The good news is that when done by an expert, the right brows will create an uplifting and youthful effect and I can recommend what colour, shape and style of brow will suit you best.  It might be a slim microbladed brow in a subtle ash blonde colour, it could be a soft grey powder brow with a gentle arch or more you may suit a combination brow using both the microblading and powder effect.  You can learn more about the different effects here.  I always like to draw on my recommended shape during the consultation and take photos so I can ensure we are both on the same page.  My clients usually ask if they can go home with the brows I have drawn on because they like them so much.

Hopefully this has helped.  Would you like to find out more?  Book in for your free consultation with me and your journey to permanently lovely brows can begin.
