Permanent makeup for brows

Why my clients book treatments with me following their free consultation

There are many factors to consider when selecting the most flattering brow for you.  A great place for me to start is to understand what you would like to achieve and don't worry if you aren’t sure, you relax as you are in safe hands. I have plenty of clients say “you are the expert, you tell me what you think” and I enjoy getting the chance to share my knowledge. So what aspects do I consider?

Looking at your brows holistically is a great place for me to start. I look at what would be the best colour and shape for you. I note what is your hair growth pattern and if there are any sparse areas. I carefully measure to understand the symmetry between your brows and what needs adjusting. Sometimes a dramatic difference can be achieved just by improving how and where brow starts and ends, it helps to avoid having either a sad or angry expression.

It is also key to consider other contributing factors. I into account taking your lifestyle, your own personal style, your colouring and level of contrast and importantly how your features work together on your face.  Brows frame your eyes but also your overall face.

Brow treatments

  • Powder brows

Powder brows are a very popular permanent makeup technique created by using the tattoo machine to layer soft pixels of colour into the skin. Powder brows are a beautiful and flexible type of tattooing and in the right hands can be adapted to create a variety of effects.

As required, powder brows can improve the overall shape of the brow, add fullness, add depth of colour and also increase the length. Here are some examples of what can be achieved.

I can apply the powder effect very delicately and subtly. This works particularly well on my blonde clients and those with silver, red or white hair, or darker haired clients who suit a very natural result.

In contrast, I can add further shading to create a block brow which is a more defined brow. This is perfect for those who suit a more dramatic effect.

It can also suit clients to have an ombre effect, so the front of the brow is lighter and more subtle compared to the body and tail of the brow.

Powder brows can be used in combination with microblading, often referred to as “combination brows” or “blade and shade”. Some clients will better suit having both effects, I will be able to advise. Combination brows provides clients with the benefit of both the soft powdered pixels as well as the realistic microbladed hair strokes.

Powder brows are £325 which includes the initial treatment session and top up session 6 weeks later where any refinements are made.

    Lasts 1-3 years.

  • Microblading

Microblading remains to be one one of the most popular permanent makeup treatments available for women and men and with good reason. It is achieved using a hand-held tool which is used to create very realistic hair-like strokes. These strokes can be so realistic, it can be very hard to tell which are real hairs and which ones are in fact microbladed. In the right hands, it should be a reasonably comfortable and relaxing treatment.

Like with powder brows, I can use the microblade to achieve different results and as required can improve the overall shape of the brow, add fullness, add depth of colour and also increase the length.

Microblading can be perfect for someone who has no brow hair at all, or has sparse or patchy brows helping those of us who want to return our brows back to their former glory.

It is important to note that not all skin types are suitable for microblading, e.g. the hair strokes placed into oilier skin do not heal as crisply or last as long. It can help to combine microblading with the powder brow treatment so you still can benefit from the textured look of real hairs that the microblading still can provide and any lack of crispness is concealed by the powdered effect. I will be able to advise you at your free consultation.

Microblading is £325 which includes the initial treatment session and top up session 6 weeks later where any refinements are made.

    Lasts 1-3 years.

  • Combination brows

Combination brows, also referred to as “blade and shade”, are created using a combination of both microblading and the powder technique. Both modalities implant pigment into the skin but microblading is achieved using a handheld tool and the powder brow technique is done by implanting tiny pixels of pigment to create a shaded effect.

Combination brows are a popular treatment with women and men. I can use the microblade and machine together to achieve a variety of different effects and as required can improve the overall shape of the brow, add fullness, add depth of colour and also increase the length.

Combination brows are a lovely option and very popular with my clients. Combination brows are particularly suited to a client who has no brow hair at all, has sparse or patchy brows or oilier skin.

Combination brows are £350 which includes the initial treatment session and top up session 6 weeks later where any refinements are made.

    Lasts 1-3 years.

What brows might suit me?

Some client scenarios

  • Powder brows

Do your brows need more shape? Do your brows have sparse areas? Would you like more definition and for your brows to better frame your eyes? Do you have a scar or previous permanent makeup you want to cover? Powder brows can work wonders for all of these needs. My client had faded permanent makeup she had done years ago with another artist and she wanted the colour and shape to be addressed. I used the machine to create a soft powdered effect and she was so pleased and recently came for a colour boost session 18 months after her initial treatment. Powder brows suit all skin types and ages and are flattering for all. I will be able to advise you what will be most flattering and effective at your free consultation.

  • Microblading

Are your eyebrows non-existent, thin or sparse? Or do you want fuller and thicker brows and enjoy the look of realistic hair strokes? Microblading is a beautiful modality achieved using a handheld tool and can achieve a number of effects. This client wanted a natural brow and to return them to how they previously looked. She wanted a very natural blonde colour that suited her hair tone and complexion. The outcome was very natural and just what she had asked for. Microblading on it’s own is not suited to oily skin types and powder or combination brows are a better option. I can best advise you at your free consultation.

  • Combination brows (powder and micro blading)

Do you have brows with large sparse gaps? Combination brows are perfect for adding the missing depth, definition and filling out the shape. I will bespoke your combination brows to most flatter you, whether it be a light and airy effect or something more dramatic. For this client I added hair strokes using the microblade throughout her brow and then added the powder effect over the top. This created a more defined shape and colour and she was delighted. She was delighted with the way her brows framed her eyes. Combination brows suit most skin types and I will be able to advise you what will suit you best at your free consultation.

Powder brow colour boost session

Powder brow colour boost session 18 months later

This client originally had her powder brows done in August 2021, she came for a colour boost session 18 months later. As you can see she had retained a fair amount of the powder brow permanent makeup compared to her original before photo (top left). She loves her permanent makeup as it saves her time in the mornings and it takes away the guess work of having to select and apply the right makeup herself.

The perfect colour match

This client wanted auburn brows to match her gorgeous hair colour, she was so pleased with the colour match. My pigment range caters for all colour needs and can be mixed to deliver the perfect colour.
