Permanent makeup for lips

“Lips are the most expressive feature on a woman’s face.” said Christian Louboutin. It is true, as well as being a source of beauty, our lips give our face character and the ability to show and share our emotions with others. As we age, our lips change. As well as losing volume, the pigment in our lips can lighten and also creep away from the border, making them appear smaller and less even. Permanent makeup can correct minor asymmetry and by adding back the missing colour provide a more youthful appearance of fuller, symmetrical and rosier lips. Other key benefits are it is there when you wake up, saving application time and the need to reapply during the day or evening.

Permanent makeup lip treatments

  • Close-up of pink lips to demonstrate how lip blushing can look

    Lip blush

Lip blushing continues to be big news in the beauty industry and the benefits are easy to see. The results are a subtle wash of colour, that looks natural and is universally flattering.

As we age as well as losing volume in our lips the pigment in our lips can lighten and creep away from the border, making them appear smaller and less even. Lip blush helps restore the youthful appearance of fuller, symmetrical, and rosier lips and no need to keep reapplying lip products.

I start by using my digital tattoo machine to gently and subtly contour the outline of your lips which can correct any minor irregularities. This will not be a detectable line at the end of the treatment. I then gently shade the body of the lip by applying soft pixels of the chosen colour evenly across the entire lips. The colour achieved can be very soft and natural or a more intense shade.

Once healed you can use gloss to add a gorgeous shine or still use your favourite lip products to change up your look at any time. The key is you will still look great if you choose to do nothing. I literally woke up like this!

Lip blushing can be done on those who have had lip filler or plan to have lip filler, I can advise you at your free consultation. Ideally lip filler is done after your lip blush treatment so the aesthetician can work with the improved contours of your lips.

The price of £350 includes the initial treatment session and top up session 6 weeks later where any refinements are made.

    Lasts 1-3 years.

  • Close-up of a person's lips undergoing a permanent make up procedure with a needle held by a gloved professional.

    Lip liner

The border of our lips can lack symmetry. This can happen at any age but can become more pronounced as we age into our 30’s and beyond. The pigment in our lips can creep away from the outside border and make them appear smaller and uneven. I use my digital tattoo machine to gently and subtly contour the outline of your lips which can correct any minor irregularities. This treatment helps make lips appear fuller and more youthful and helps prevent the look of lipstick bleeding.

Before any tattooing takes place, we take our time to discuss the most flattering colour. There are a variety of warm and cool toned colours to choose from which can be mixed to match the desired colour. We will also discuss the desired shape and to illustrate this I will outline your lips in pencil. This time spent gives my clients confidence and they can relax during their treatment and look forward to seeing the initial results.

The price of £200 includes the initial treatment session and if needed a top up session 6 weeks later where any refinements are made.

Typically clients will need 2-3 sessions and it can 8-10 weeks to heal between sessions. Price for 2 sessions is £350 and any additional sessions are £175.

What lip blush treatment might suit me? Some client scenarios

Lip blushing to achieve a soft light pink

This client is natural beauty and wanted to a soft flush of pink so save her having to apply a tinted lipstick. She came in to have her lash enhancement done so I took a photo of her healed lips, she was wearing a clear gloss to make the colour pop. A tip I always recommend to clients.

Your lips but even better

This client had stunning lips but she wanted a slightly a sheer result that was slightly darker and pinker in colour and the result was beautiful.

Lip blush to provide sheer brown tones and a sheer healed result

This client wanted a brown toned rosy colour. She already had beautifully shaped lips and they look fabulous with this flush of colour.

Lip blushing to even out the lip line

This client wanted to add definition to her lip border and also wanted to go a touch darker pink than her natural lip colour. This is a common reason that my clients want their lips blushing and going a touch darker than your natural lip colour is always going to be flattering and look the most natural.

Sheer lip blush

Although she had beautiful shaped lips the colour was very pale. She wanted a sheer but bright pink. I explained the initial colour would be more red / pink and look more like a lipstick effect but the healed colour would be perfect, sheer and it certainly was,

As you can see from the video below her healed lips are now fuller looking and what a stunning colour.

Lip neutralisation

I did two lip neutralisation sessions with this client to address the darker and cooler areas of her lips and this provided a more consistent base colour. I then followed up with a lip blushing session to achieve the pale pink colour she wanted.

Lip neutralisation to lighten lips and provide a nude tone

Once healed the initial peach colour of the lips healed to a light nude, just what the client wanted.
