Everything you need to know about lip neutralisation

Let’s start with what lip neutralisation means.

If you have darker lips (also known as melanin rich lips) you are likely to have areas which are darker and also cooler in tone, the cooler tone can be show as slightly grey, purple or even blue.  Often it is the centre of the bottom lip which is desirable, this area tends to be lighter and often warmer in tone such as a red, pink, peach or nude.

Lip neutralisation is where darker and cooler areas are tattooed to make them lighter and warmer in tone. Once healed, lips are more consistent in colour and tone and the darker areas are lighter.

My clients with darker lips have been delighted with the natural and flattering results.

It is important to know that lip neutralisation is an advanced permanent makeup technique.

It is critical that your permanent makeup artist is trained in lip neutralisation and has a clear understanding of colour theory and how to work on melanin rich skin.  I completed my training with the incredibly talented Jasmine Diebelius.

During your consultation with me, I will show you case studies of my clients which includes their healed results.  I will also explain the process.  Lip neutralisation typically involves 3-4 treatment sessions to ensure optimum results.

My consultations are free of charge and there is no obligation.  I look forward to meeting you soon and talking about what lip neutralisation can do for you.

My client wanted to lighten the darker areas of her lips and achieve a peachy pink colour. I did three full sessions with her and a fourth short session to target a few specific areas. The bottom photo shows her healed results and she was absolutely delighted.
