Can You Have Lip Blush and Lip Filler? Everything You Need to Know
💄 What’s the Difference Between Lip Blush and Lip Filler?
Lip blush is a permanent makeup treatment that enhances the colour, shape, and definition of your lips using a cosmetic tattoo technique. It can also in some cases correct minor asymmetry in the lips. It gives a soft and natural effect like you have blotted your favourite lipstick, but it is better as it won’t wear off for 1-3 years.
Lip filler is a dermal filler (usually hyaluronic acid) that adds volume and contour to the lips. It can plump thin lips, define the Cupid’s bow and improve symmetry.
✅ Can You Have Lip Blush If You’ve Had Lip Filler?
Yes! You can absolutely have both treatments. In fact, they complement each other beautifully:
Lip filler shapes and volumizes the lips
Lip blush defines the borders and enhances colour and can also give the appearance of a fuller lip if the pigment of your lip border has crept away or is paler than the rest of your lip.
However, it’s important to plan the timing carefully so you get the best, most even results.
⏱️ How to Time Lip Blush and Lip Filler Correctly
If you already have lip filler:
Wait at least 4 weeks before getting lip blush. This gives time for the filler to settle and any swelling to subside so we can work with your natural lip shape.
If you want to get lip filler after your lip blush:
Wait 6 weeks after your second lip blush session to allow full healing and pigment retention before having filler injected.
⚠️ Other Important Things to Know
❄️ Cold Sores
If you’re prone to cold sores, lip blush can trigger a flare-up. You’ll need to take antiviral medication before and after your appointment—speak to your GP or pharmacist for guidance.
💉 Existing Filler
If you already have lip filler, that’s not a problem.
🧴 Aftercare & Healing
Lip blush typically takes 5–10 days to heal on the surface, with full pigment settling over 4–6 weeks. During this time, your lips will go through fading and colour changes before softening into the final result.
💡 Final Thoughts: Lip Filler + Lip Blush = it can be the Perfect Combo
Lip blush and lip filler can work hand-in-hand to give you a fuller, more youthful, and beautifully defined pout. As long as you follow the right timeline and work with experienced professionals, the results can be stunning.
