Top Tips to Protect Your Permanent Makeup: Aftercare for Brows, Lips & Eyeliner.
Great question!
It’s important to protect your beautiful permanent makeup by following the right aftercare. Once your initial healing process has been completed, there are two key factors that can prematurely fade your permanent makeup fade and dull the colour.
The first is the sun! I know, we love a bit of sun but it is a menace for fading colour. Think back to holiday’s in sunny locations abroad or on the south coast, faded paintwork on doors, walls, shutters and older cars. Protect your permanent makeup by wearing SPF on it. Just a light layer will help protect it from the sun. If you are on holiday and the sun is at its fiercest you can also pop on a hat.
Secondly, but just as important, be careful with application of skincare which has active ingredients. AHA’s, BHA’s and retinoids can all impact the longevity and true colour of your permanent makeup. The good news is you can still use this type of skincare, but use it around your permanent makeup.
I explain all of this at your free consultation and include instructions in your aftercare bag. You can book your consultation here or find out more about the treatments I offer here.
Hope this helps!
